Since last year, Serbia and the Republic of Srpska (RS) celebrate a common holiday on September 15 – the Serbian Unity, Freedom and National Flag Day.
This date was chosen as the date of the new national holiday because of victory on the Salonica Front in 1918 (World War I).
September 15th will be a day to celebrate together in the Republic of Srpska, Serbia and all Serbian communities around the world where Serbs will show that they are one nation and that pain, as well as the success of some, will always be the pain or the joy of all.
In order to mark the new holiday, this September 12th 2021, the victims of the First World War will be commemorated at the Serbian Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in Monteral. His Excellency Dejan Ralevic, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Canada, His Excellency Marko Milisav, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Canada and Mrs. Marina Gavanski-Zisis, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Montreal will attend the ceremony.
