We are pleased to inform you that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia (The Office for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region) will financially support the project “Jezikovanje” of the St. Sava School and Stevan Jorgovic Library in the amount of 195,000 dinars.

The goal of this project is to preserve the linguistic identity of the Serbs living in Montreal (Canada). “Jezikovanje” is an intensive, interactive program for the learning of the Serbian language and the Cyrillic alphabet. The program will last from September 2019 to February 2020. The program is intended for children, youth, but also for those who want to learn Cyrillic and refresh their knowledge of the Serbian language. Depending on the age of the participants, the program is conceived as a combination of lectures, workshops, quizzes, online lessons with peers from several big cites in North America. The program participants will learn Cyrillic, master the Serbian language, strengthen their awareness of their national and cultural identity through a strong relationship with their peers, and foster the culture of their ancestors.
