We are pleased to inform you that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia (The Office for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region) will financially support the project “Jezikovanje 2” of the St. Sava School and Stevan Jorgovic Library in the amount of 560,000 dinars.

“Jezikovanje” is an intensive, interactive program for learning the Serbian language and Cyrillic alphabet whose goal is to preserve the linguistic identity of Serbs living in Montreal (Canada).The program will start in October 2021 and last until the end of March 2022. The program is intended for children, youth, but also for those who want to learn Cyrillic and refresh their knowledge of the Serbian language. Depending on the age of the participants, the program is conceived as a combination of lectures, workshops, quizzes, online lessons with peers from several big cites in North America and Serbia.

The program participants will learn Cyrillic, master the Serbian language, learn about important personalities of Serbian culture, science, history, and sport, strengthen their awareness of their national and cultural identity through a strong relationship with their peers, and foster the culture of their ancestors.
